WELCOME TO OUR MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY
REALISE YOUR DREAM |
ACADEMY
The UK Wing Chun Assoc: London Martial Arts Academy
runs a range of classes for all ages and skill levels. In order
to help students to progress quickly through their study of Wing
Chun. Students are initially separated by ability, i.e. Beginners,
Intermediate and Advanced Students are taught seperatly. However,
all students are able to attend additional classes that range from
a series of internal seminars, martial arts courses to fitness training
sessions held specifically for the martial artist. Our classes include:
|
- Beginners
Induction Course: Induction
into our classes involves a short beginners course. The beginners training
course will introduce the prospective student to the principles, philosophy
and simplistic self-defence techniques of Wing Chun Kung Fu.
A typical beginners course
contains taught beginners classes. In addition to these classes optional
'Fitness and Conditioning' training sessions are also timetabled through
out the week for beginners. Fitness and Conditioning classes allow students
to focus on the fitness aspect of martial arts training, separately from
their martial arts experience.
- Many
martial arts involve years of dedicated training and often require high
levels of physical fitness which are often an unrealistic expectation
of the general public. Our beginners' courses require no great degree
of flexibility, fitness, strength, special clothing or equipment, just
an attentive mind. Our instructors are certified by the St John's Ambulance
Association in first aid and some are also trained in oriental medicine.

- Beginners/ Intermediate/ Advanced Classes: Following
completion of our beginners course, students usually join a beginners
class. From there students are expected to progress at their own
speed through the intermediate level into the advanced level of
Wing Chun Kung Fu.
- Internal
Seminars: The school runs a series of short courses that
are open to all levels of students. These courses range from an introduction
to Lok Sau, Single Chi Sau, Sparring, Boxing, Empty Hand forms and other
dynamic wing chun skills. Students off all levels are given the opportunity
to meet, train and focus on very specific skills that will improve progress
through the Wing Chun System.
- Strength
& Conditioning Classes: Students of all levels are able
to attend weekly fitness & conditioning sessions that not only encourage
Cardio Vascular development, but striking (punching & kicking) skills
as well. Beginners are encouraged to attend these sessions, since Strength
and Conditioning classes allow new students to focus on the fitness aspect
of their martial arts training. A typical Strength and Conditioning class
involves boxing on focus pads, heavy bags and physical exercise using body
weight and some light weight dumbbells. The classes are designed to raise
your level of fitness in order improve your self defence ability, hence
fitness sessions are based around preparation for combat unlike many gyms
and health clubs.
