THE BEGINNERS WING CHUN CLASS
Our martial arts classes are highly structured so that students do not drift along over a period of time and this allows students to progress very quickly during our beginners Wing Chun classes. Beginners are introduced to the concepts of Wing Chun in a methodological method that allows them to easily apply their new found martial arts skills in a self defence context. Each class is organised so as to follow on from the previous weeks practice and this develops a good understanding of this very simple but effective martial art over a period of time.

Wing Chun Beginners focus on the core skills and concepts of the martial art focusing directly on developing the correct application of footwork and Centre Line Punching within the context of applying these skills in a self-defence situation. While understanding the Centre Line Theory is vital, what is more important is that students understand how to apply this concept. Hence, Wing Chun Beginners are introduced to the basic concepts of body structure, balance, turning and deflecting, which are all concepts derived from the more advanced Chum Kiu (2nd Form) in the Wing Chun system. Beginners are also introduced the correct application of Bong Sao, Taan Sao, and guard hand and guard hand skills that include trapping, kicking and basic Chi Sao.
Overall, Beginners train a simple variety of Wing Chun concepts to apply in a self-defence scenario, while having fun building their fitness and Martial Arts Skills.
